Show Review: Hawthorne Heights @ Bakersfield, California.

BAKERSFIELD, California – Hawthorne Heights brought pure early-2000s emotion to life at Legends Lounge, and the crowd in Bakersfield showed up and showed out for their appearance.

The night kicked off strong with Creeper, who set a dark, theatrical tone that pulled everyone in right away. Their energy built the perfect atmosphere—moody, intense, and immersive. Then came letlive., absolutely explosive as expected. Their set felt raw and unpredictable, with a chaotic stage presence and wild emotion pouring out of every moment. The crowd shook the floor with their energy. By the time Hawthorne Heights hit the stage, the room was already charged—but they took it to another level.

They opened with This Is Who We Are, instantly locking the crowd in. From there, it was a wave of nostalgia and sing-along anthems— Pens and Needles was amazing, and the Dandelions / Niki FM mashup had the entire venue screaming every word. They also performed Like a Cardinal, one of their newer tracks, bringing a more emotional and reflective moment into the set and showcasing how their sound continues to evolve.

The band closed, of course, with Ohio Is for Lovers. No closer could hit harder. The second that the intro played, it was chaos in the best way possible. Voices maxed out, phones up, arms around strangers. It was truly one of those moments where everyone in the room remembers the community surrounding them.

Overall, the show was the perfect blend of nostalgia, raw energy, and genuine connection. From start to finish, it felt less like “just a concert” and more like a shared memory being relived in real time. Bakersfield definitely showed up, and Hawthorne Heights delivered.
