Josh Spinner Photos and Review

by Catie Connolly

On December 20th, 2025, Josh Spinner took the stage at Schubas Tavern for his annual Christmas show. An ugly sweater extravaganza with opening music from The Four Porchmen, RZL, and JJ Smith. I got there just in time to see JJ Smith perform, as well as the band, and the way they got the crowd hyped and excited for what was to come was amazing.

When it was time for Josh to come out and start the show, everyone was already buzzing with excitement. The show opened up with a classic Christmas song that everybody knows and loves, Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

After that, he continued the show by playing one of his own songs, Out of Line from his 2023 EP Milk and Coffee. Followed up by Still Around, Sunrise, and Ignorant Love from his newest 2025 Album Feels Right. Josh Spinner’s music is very personal while also blending jazz, pop, and indie sounds.

Early on into the performance, two surprise guests came up onto the stage from the audience. Santa Claus and The Grinch! They went on the stage multiple times throughout the show and danced up there along with the band. It brought a whole new layer of excitement to the show. Midway through, Josh also did a solo performance singing Desert of My Mind also from Milk and Coffee. Throughout the show, the audience formed a group in front of the stage and started dancing.

Everyone was disappointed when the end of the set arrived. But to close out the show ,there was a surprise rendition of his song I Feel from 2022, mixed in with Run, Run, Rudolph, another classic Christmas song. The energy rose quickly after that. Overall, it was a super fun and exciting night. From everyone dancing up in front of the stage, the surprise appearances from Santa and the Grinch, to the performance put on by Josh, it was a night to remember.
