Orlando Loses Its Virginity
By Sofia Crepeau
Formed in 2019, indie power punk band Virginity made its mark on Orlando's music scene. Thus far, they’ve released 4 albums with their most recent releasing in 2025, titled You Can’t Have My Blood.
On January 22nd, The four man band made the decision to go on an indefinite hiatus. They mentioned that they were proud of the art they’ve made so far. Lead singer Casey stated that the start of this band was organic and it’s eventual return will be as well. The announcement left fans with, “Goodbye for now, but not forever.”
On February 23rd, Virginity played its final show alongside Descendants and Frank Turner. They opened with Midweekend, then immediately followed it with Your Apartment. The Orlando House of Blues was filled with a vibrant audience rocking out to their new favorite power punk anthems. Virginity ended their night with IamYOUareMEtoo off the POPMORTEM album. The band put 110% of their energy into their final song, and not only could you see it, but you could feel it. The next morning, Casey posted on Instagram saying, “I'm certain this is not the end of this band, just of this era. And, man, what a way to button it up.”
Virginity will be back one day, and I highly recommend checking them out before that day arrives. Standout tracks to check out are: Midweekend, Bad Call, IamYOUareMEtoo, and 2 Sad 2 Get Stoned. A huge thank you to Virginity, Jackie, and Camden Crawford for a not just remarkable, but more importantly, memorable night!
