Eden Park: Debut Performance
Written by Katelyn Christensen
LINCOLN, NEBRASKA: On a late Wednesday evening, Lincoln’s own Eden Park made their debut performance at Duffy's Tavern, drawing an energized crowd eager to hear the group’s first live set. Despite being a new band to many in attendance, the excitement inside the venue suggested that fans were ready to embrace the group from the very beginning.
The four-piece band consists of Julia Haller on lead vocals and guitar, alongside Alex Gryczanowski, providing lead guitar and backup vocals, Izzy Lewis on bass, and Leela Kononoff on drums. Together, they make a lively group, with a youthful pop-punk sound that immediately captivated the crowd. Haller’s fun and spunky vocals, combined with Gryczanowski’s wicked guitar licks, enticed the crowd to sing along. While Lewis and Kononoff held down the rhythm all night long, providing the perfect energy to dance along to.
Throughout the night, Eden Park performed a mix of original music and covers, giving fans a taste of their developing sound. The energy only continued to grow in Duffy’s as the band flowed through their set.
The standout moment of the evening came during one of the band’s original songs, Oh My God (OMG). As the chorus hit, pumped up fans jumped and screamed along so intensely that the floor beneath the crowd could be felt rattling throughout the venue. Despite this being the first time any of this music was played live, fans immediately picked up on the catchy chorus and were instantly singing it back to the band.
By the end of the night, Eden Park’s debut show felt less like a first performance and more like the beginning of a growing presence in Lincoln’s local music scene. With an enthusiastic crowd, a confident stage presence, and a set bursting from the seams with energy, the band left a lasting impression on everyone packed into Duffy’s Tavern that evening.
