Boys Like Girls Takes Over Steelhouse Omaha

OMAHA, Nebraska – Early 2000s alternative rock band Boys Like Girls, brought The Soundtrack of Your Life Tour to Steelhouse Omaha for their third stop. The band is playing venues to celebrate two of their albums: the twentieth anniversary of their self-titled release and the seventeenth anniversary of Love Drunk

Hitting the road with them were Arrows in Action and I Don’t Know How But They Found Me (IDKHow). Despite the cold winds that swept Nebraska that night, fans filled the venue to enjoy a night of alternative music that warmed the soul.

Kicking off the evening was indie pop-rock band Arrowsin Action. Lead singer Victor Viramontes-Pattison immediately commanded the audience's attention with the song Light Like You. The sugary chorus prompted fans to dance and groove along. Wrapping up their set with the 2024 single, Cheekbones, the entire band had an electric energy that fueled the audience for the rest of the evening.

After a quick pause for the crew to reset, IDKHow took the stage. Their style is perfectly indescribable. Somewhere between new wave and alternative pop-rock, the band is in a league of its own. Frontman Dallon Weekes is quite the live performer. He’s theatrical, vocally talented, connected with the audience, and just all around fun to watch. The band performed hits from all their eras, including Leave MeAlone, Social Climb, and GLOOMTOWN BRATS.

Finally, all eyes were on Boys Like Girls. With the classic swagger you’d expect of a band with their legacy, the crowd roared when they simply sauntered on stage. Lead singer Martin Johnson’s soulful voice bellowed through the venue while Gregory James’ bass guitar rattled the barricade.

The stage design featured a display of multiple screens cascading down from the drummer's platform, almost as if an avalanche had swept them there. An array of digital visuals transported fans into their edgy universe.

Throughout the performance, the band played the entirety of their self-titled album and Love Drunk. It was a nostalgic evening that bridged together generations of music lovers.
