Alpha Wolf Brings Metalcore to Wilmington, Delaware

WILMINGTON, Delaware – Alpha Wolf took the Let It Rip tour to The Queen on May 12, bringing along an electric lineup of incredibly talented metalcore acts: Resolve, Mugshot, and Gideon.
First on the stage was Resolve, hailing from France (incidentally, their walkout song is Édith Piaf’s Non, je ne regrette rien). They opened their set with the energetic—yet anthemic—Sandman, setting the tone for their six-track set for the evening. Solely playing songs off of their latest album, Resolve very effectively mixed heavy tracks with ballads. Smile stood out as an audience favorite; fans sang along enthusiastically with the rock ballad, and lead vocalist Anthony Diliberto picked up a guitar to play along.
Where Resolve brought a balance of heaviness and melody, Mugshot took to the stage with a blisteringly angry set. Playing tracks off of their 2025 release All The Devils Are Here as well as other songs such as Death Has a Shadow, the band made the most of their set time. Each member of the band carried themselves with an impressive amount of energy. While all the performers were fantastic, a standout was the drummer, who had several impressively fast solo sections. According to the band, he took pre-workout before the set—his energy certainly supports that claim.
The penultimate act of the night, Gideon, was up next. From the American South, the band was unsurprisingly clad in cowboy hats and sunglasses. Their metallic hardcore hits fit in perfectly with the soundscape of the evening. The Alabama-based group also debuted their upcoming release 4x4 on this tour, an aggressive and moshable track. The crowd was incredibly excited for them as well, starting at least three circle pits over the course of the eleven-song setlist. Other hits such as MORE POWER. MORE PAIN. got the crowd in the mood to mosh, setting up perfectly for the final act of the night.
Alpha Wolf, armed with six members and an impressive lighting setup, headlined the evening. While the first three bands set quite the high bar for energy, the Australian metalcore act managed to clear it with ease. The band played absolute thrashers such as Hotel Underground and the iconic Sub-Zero. Not a single member of the band remained still, with the two guitarists and the bassist repeatedly swapping sides of the stage and leaping around. Ballads such as Whenever You’re Ready and Bleed 4 You had fans crowdsurfing across the venue, while heavier tracks led to several walls of death and intense moshing. Closing the set was their biggest hit, Akudama. It was a truly electric experience to witness the entire room shout the famous callout (“A-ku-da-ma hoo”) so loudly that the vocalist was inaudible.
Alpha Wolf truly brought a high-octane an energetic performance to The Queen, along with the three other fantastic bands of the evening.
