Life On Tour with alexsucks

Being an artist fosters a lot of connection to audiences worldwide, and for musical artists, going on tour is one way to treat fans in both local stages and sold-out stadiums. Touring becomes an artist’s life, whether it’s for a weekend or a year. An interview with Alexsucks from almost halfway into the rock band’s 2026 “autopilot US tour” revealed how tour life is treating its members.

Having been on the road several times before, Alexsucks is no stranger to touring. Titular lead vocalist Alex Alvarez mentioned, "We've been blessed to play a lot of cool venues,” listing North American and European sites including The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, The Neptune Theatre in Seattle, and Fuchs2 in Prague. Big or small, each stage carries the same energy that Alexsucks brings on tour.

Touring comes with weird hours. Routines often look like this: get on stage, play the gig, get on the tour bus, and drive hours to the next show overnight — somewhere in there, artists need to sleep and figure out meals. Guitarist John Luther chimed in with, "We've been doing breakfast after shows on this tour, which is great. We've hit Waffle House a lot — I don't know why — it just kind of makes sense.” This little habit adds a lot of routine to the hectic part of tour life.

Not only is offstage life bizarre, but being on stage has its own whims as well. When asked about some of the wildest things they've encountered, Luther said, “Just the other night, fucking, half the crowd got on the stage, and it was crazy!” Alvarez added, “We could sit here and try to come up with a bunch of [unusual] things, but it's almost daily.” Alexsucks confirms — there's never a quiet moment.

One part that stays mostly consistent for many artists is the setlist on stage. When playing, especially live, each member of the band has a favorite song. Luther said his is “Fish Don’t Fly. It's just heavy, and we do this improv thing at the end… It's just chaos, and the crowd goes pretty crazy.” Fish Don’t Fly allows for a bit of suspense in the crowd, taking the energy from high to higher.

Passion is also a steady source of momentum to keep the spirit strong during Alexsucks’ month-long tour across the nation. Even with its quirks and times when things go haywire, touring stays a core part of its members’ artistry.
